French hotel barge BONNE HUMEUR renamed RENAISSANCE

CHANGE AND NO CHANGE ...

Bonne Humeur has been renamed Renaissance but this excellent French hotel barge will continue to provide upscale cruises along the Western Burgundy and Upper Loire canals and rivers as she has done for the past couple of years.



During the winter of 2007/8 Renaissance will receive a cosmetic makeover to her livery and décor but no fundamental changes to her layout. Her spacious two-deck interior will continue to accommodate a maximum of eight guests in elegance and commodious comfort. Her crew will include her returning chef and barge industry professionals who understand the responsibilities attached to a top of the line hotel barge.

This article appears to be from 2003, but it is still interesting. Read about the Canal Saint-Denis, Canal Ourcq and the Canal Saint Martin.

This system, built in the early 1800s by Napoleon Bonaparte, today includes a network of waterways stretching 81 miles across very different Paris neighborhoods and into the suburbs.

The Bassin de l'Arsenal is a beautiful park-like marina located at Bastille where the canal meets the Seine. Highly recommended spot to hang out for a bit! We use to visit there every week or two to see cruisers who were passing through.
