Special Themed Cruises for Cabin Weeks

Four Themed Cruises Available For Cabin Weeks

We're happy to announce that in 2020 we have four themed cruises that can be booked on a per cabin basis:

  • April 26, 2020 - GOLF:  Pack your clubs and head to the highlands for a Golf Cruise aboard Spirit of Scotland. Hit the links at the stunning seaside Castle Stuart or the famed Championship Royal Dornoch before returning to your "luxury floating hotel" for a wee dram and some stellar Scottish cuisine. Golf cruises include four pre-booked and paid tee times as well as private transfers to and from the courses.

  • April 12, 2020 - WINE: Seasoned conoisseur or budding enthusiast, our Wine Appreciation cruise aboard L'Impressionniste in Burgundy has something for every palate as we cruise through arguably the greatest wine region in the world. There is no better way to experience the world of wine than amongst the historical vineyards and cellars of Burgundy, France. Our Wine Appreciation Cruises include a comprehensive wine itinerary with additional winery visits, private tastings and the services of a professional wine guide, as well as an onboard upgrade of the wine list to include additional premier and grand cru wines.

  • April 5, 2020 - WHISKY: If you're a fan of a wee dram then our Whisky Trail cruise aboard Scottish Highlander is the ultimate getaway for you. Indulge in the finest whisky that Scotland has to offer while cruising through the Highlands. Visit world renowned distilleries such as Tomatin and Dalwhinnie, where you’ll be educated in the age old manufacturing practices and rewarded with a tasting of gorgeous, golden single malt. Our whisky trail cruises include visits to 3 distilleries with guided tours and tutored tastings.

  • August 15, 2020 - OPERA: A magical, musical, operatic adventure aboard La Bella Vita in Italy. The Opera itinerary is for 7 nights beginning on Saturday with a hotel night in Verona (August 15), a visit to the fascinating Arena Muse Opera, a wonderful museum devoted to the history of opera, followed by dinner in the delightful courtyard restaurant, and a performance of Verdi’s "Nabucco" at the Arena di Verona (best seats in the House). Update On Grand Cru, New Burgundy Hotel Barge

The French Hotel Barge Grand Cru makes their debut in April 2018, offering six night/seven day journeys on a route featuring "The Best of Burgundy's Best." With Grand Cru's gastronomic program, guests will enjoy pours of Grand Cru wines with every lunch and dinner. Selected from France's famous wine region, these Grand Cru samplings pair perfectly with the Chef's gourmet cuisine. Other superior libations will be served as well, such as the "créme de la créme" of regional spirits and liqueurs.

We have just heard from Spencer Hayes and Earl Robertson who are in France finishing up the construction and decoration of Grand Cru. They are very excited about this ultra-deluxe barge:

“Grand Cru is coming along well.  The custom cabinetry will soon be installed and the bathrooms are tiled. We have purchased the furniture, as well as unique decorative accessories and art.  We have also been thinking about our itinerary and have decided to offer impromptu experiences when feasible – our guests will receive the true flavor of the region and its people.  Please recommend Grand Cru to your most elite inquiries, and don’t forget the wine lovers, with our exclusive Grand Cru wine program.  We are very excited to start the season and look forward to welcoming your clients.”

The Grand Cru's eye-catching modern design effortlessly reflects the clean lines and open spaces of contemporary living. Four generously-sized cabins accommodate up to eight guests in beautifully-appointed staterooms, while the comfortable furniture throughout the spacious salon and expansive deck encourages hours of casual socializing. While cruising, guests can relax on deck and enjoy the unspoiled scenery along the waterways or explore the route's charming canalside villages riding the barge's bicycles or taking a bit of a stroll.

While cruising aboard the Grand Cru, Burgundy's cultural treasures are always on offer, ensuring unparalleled access to the local flavors and lively personalities of the region. Escorted excursions reveal the area's most treasured resource: the pampered grapes of Burgundy's Cote d'Or region. Grand Cru's guests will meet the entrepreneurs behind Burgundy's wine production thanks to a series of vineyard visits and private tastings. Guests will also enjoy excursions to family-owned chateaux and gourmet food markets, as well as guided tours of the towns of Dijon and Beaune.

We will have actual photos soon.
