Go Barging and GOLFING in Scotland - Hotel Barge Scottish Highlander

The luxury, crewed, all-inclusive Hotel Barge Scottish Highlander has announced that they are opening up two special weeks next season for golf-themed cruises for individual cabin bookings:
  • 10-16 May 2015
  • 4-10 October 2015

Scottish Highlander moored at Urquhart castle

Golf-themed whole boat, private charters can be booked all season, but these designated cabin cruise weeks allow golfers to meet other like-minded people aboard Scottish Highlander. Golf cruises include four pre-booked tee times and transfers to and from the clubs. Other excursion tours are available if you have a non-golfing partner.

Rates for the Scottish Highlander golf-themed cabin cruises start at $4,090 per person, and include all meals, wines, an open bar, numerous other daily escorted excursions, local transfers and admissions. A $900 per person supplement applies for those wishing to play golf.  Guests who do not wish to play do not pay the supplement.

Whole boat, private charters are also available throughout the year starting at $29,500 for up to 6 guests in Scottish Highlander's value season. They also offer a private 2-person honeymoon charter for only $22,000.

Highlights of this golf-themed cruise (sample itinerary) include a round at the world renowned Royal Dornoch Championship, an 18-hole par 70 golf course. The next day is a round at the 18-hole, par 72 Castle Stuart, where guests play overlooking the Moray Firth, an inlet of the North Sea. Lunch is onboard the Scottish Highlander, followed by a cruise through Loch Ness, where shy “Nessie” (otherwise known as the Loch Ness Monster) may join the party... or not!  Also on the itinerary is a round of golf at the Fort Augustus golf course; a unique and scenic hidden gem considered among the hardest 9-hole golf course in Scotland, and possibly the hardest par 67 in the country.  It is also probably the only golf course you’ll ever play where sheep are allowed to roam freely!

We hope you will take advantage of this opportunity to play on some of the most challenging, scenic, and historic golf courses in Scotland, Whether you are a novice inspired by the Ryder Cup or a seasoned pro looking to sharpen your swing, the Scottish Highlander is an unforgettable experience for any golf enthusiast.

The hotel barge Scottish Highlander has the atmosphere of a Scottish country house with subtle use of tartan furnishings and landscape paintings.
