French Hotel Barge Cruises in Champagne France

We have three luxury hotel barges that cruise through the Champagne region of France: La Nouvelle Etoile, Panache, and Savoir Faire. You can view their itineraries in their online brochures (click on links below).

Champagne Itinerary: Paris - Cumieres/Epernay -- Click map to enlarge
The Champagne region stretches from Meaux along the beautiful River Marne to the city of Epernay, home of many renowned Champagne producers, including Moët et Chandon, Pol Roger and Mercier.

Vineyards spread across the rolling plains as far as the eye can see, green with the new leaves of Spring, turning to gold as the grapes ripen in the Autumn. The region is rich in both modern and ancient history and during your voyage you visit such landmarks as Château Thierry and the Cathedral of Reims.

There will be plenty the opportunity to sample the sparkling wine to which the region has given its name, including a private tasting in the vast cellars of Moët et Chandon. As well as champagne, the region is rich in other delicious products, particularly its wonderfully creamy cheeses, with the towns of Meaux and Coulommiers at its heart.

Cruise highlights:
  • Cruise through Paris past the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame
  • Visit elegant Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte and its gardens
  • Explore the magnificent Merovingian Crypts of Jouarre
  • Visit Château Thierry, the scene of fierce battles in World War I
  • Enjoy a private tasting in Moët et Chandon's cellars.
  • Tour the majestic Gothic cathedral of Reims

French Hotel Barge Prosperite alters home port

The luxury crewed French Hotel Barge PROSPERITE, which offers barging cruises along the Canal de Bourgogne in the Burgundy region of France, has altered their Dijon home port.

We are announcing a very slight change to the Prosperite itinerary.  The backstory is that Captain Spencer Hayes now finds the port of Dijon to be crowded and noisy -- not  the right start or finish to our Ultra-Deluxe cruise. Therefore, he has decided to moor Prospérité in the smaller port of Plombieres-les-Dijon; no more than a fifteen-minute drive from central Dijon. Plombieres-le-Dijon is a nice, small village, and the port is very quiet.

Everything else remains the same...

Please see our previous post French Hotel Barge PROSPERITE : Discounts Remaining 2013 weeks and take advantage of some super savings.

Prospérité accommodates up to 8 guests in 4 suites, which can be configured as doubles or twins, with sitting area and desk, each having their own private ensuite bathroom. The barge is fully air conditioned and also has central heating when necessary, hot tub on the sundeck, bicycles, air conditioned minivan for excursions...

Looking forward to your inquries

Savoir Vivre is a bit different to the other hotel barges that we represent as they do not have an onboard chef. Pastries for the continental breakfast are supplied by the local baker. Lunch is catered by professional chefs who meet up with the boat with their prepared meal. Dinners are off the boat in locally selected restaurants (included in charter fee).

Hotel Barge SAVOIR FAIRE : September Cabin Cruise - Epernay to Paris

We have a wonderful opportunity to open up a cabin cruise week for the Hotel Barge Savoir Faire during the highly popular month of September.

UPDATE: April 12, 2013: Now officially guaranteed as an individual cabin cruise week!

Hotel Barge Savoir Faire's Cruise Map for the Champagne Itinerary - Barging in France

We have booked one cabin for the week of September 22-28, 2013 for Savoir Faire's Champagne itinerary from Epernay to Paris, France. We need to book another cabin to guarantee it as a cabin cruise week... (Update: April 12, 2013 - Two more cabins have been booked so is now a "go". Thanks!)
Your chauffeurs collect you from the designated meeting place in Paris for your transfer to the Savoir Faire moored at Cumieres, 2km from the heart of Epernay. After an introduction to the barge, you are given time to settle in to your cabin before joining your captain and crew for their welcoming Champagne Reception. There will be time to stroll through the village before coming back on board where your master chef will delight you with the first of many delicious meals.
Doesn't that sound like a great start to an excellent barging trip!

This is a super opportunity to cruise this interesting route without having to book the entire boat.

  • RATE: $9600/cabin for 2 people ($4800/person, double occupancy)

CRUISE HIGHLIGHTS:
  • Night cruise through Paris past the floodlit Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame
  • Visit elegant Château de Vaux-le-Vicomte and its gardens
  • Explore Château Thierry, the scene of fierce battles in World War I
  • Enjoy a private champagne tasting in the vast cellars of Moët et Chandon
  • Tour the majestic cathedral in Reims, where the Kings of France were crowned

Chris, owner-operator of Savoir Faire, says:
This is my favourite route of all and one that receives rave reviews, year after year, from our guests that cruise with us.

We cruise during the harvesting of the grapes. The area is vibrant and fascinating. The landscape breathtakingly beautiful. Our visits include such sites as Moet & Chandon, Reims Cathedral, small exclusive Champagne houses, Meaux (famous for its Brie cheese) and of course Paris, where we offer an exclusive "once in a lifetime" night cruise through the most romantic city in the world.
Join us in 2013, aboard the Savoir Faire, for this delightful journey into a land of yesteryear.
September is the most popular month for barging cruises so don't wait too long to book this fantastic trip on Savoir Faire.

The Hotel Barge Savoir Faire is fully air conditioned and heated with accommodations for up to 12 guests in 6 well-appointed staterooms. Each stateroom can be configured with two twin beds or with one queen bed, and has ensuite private bathrooms. Each guest stateroom has a DVD player with an LCD screen and 2 sets of wireless headphones. The salon, dining area, and bar are finished in mahogany, teak and brass, decorated with antiques and paintings collected over the years.
